Petrofac has been awarded a services contract in Algeria by the In Salah Gas and In Amenas joint ventures.

Under the terms of the three-year contract, Petrofac’s Engineering & Consulting Services business will be providing a range of multi-discipline consultancy, design and procurement services. These activities will support the joint ventures’ development programme to increase hydrocarbon production on both the In Salah and In Amenas assets.

According to Petrofac, it is anticipated that 60-80 personnel will support the contract throughout the initial three-year period, which has the potential to extend further with two additional one-year options.

A significant proportion of the services will be delivered from Petrofac’s local engineering centre in Algiers.

“This award is strategically important to Petrofac. It expands our presence in Algeria where the Group’s track record extends over the last 15 years. As a result, we will continue to develop our capability in Algeria, to establish a local engineering centre with strength and depth, supporting our longer-term sustainability in-country,” said Craig Muir, managing director ECS. “In addition to building our capability, we are committed to supporting In Salah Gas and In Amenas in their development plans and looking forward to undertaking the project scope.”
