Unique Maritime Group, an international integrated turnkey subsea and offshore solution provider, has acquired a 100% stake in Unique Wellube FZC, a specialized specialist engineering company as a wholly owned subsidiary.
The subsidiary provides specialist engineering services to all sectors of industry throughout the region and overseas both onshore and offshore, topside and subsea. The services include Hot Tapping, Line Stopping, Under Pressure Leak Sealing, In-Situ Machining Services, Pipeline Rehabilitation and Monitoring, On-Line Safety Valve Testing and On-Line Valve Maintenance.
Commenting on the acquisition Graham McKay, general manager of sales at Unique Wellube said, “the management expertise, financial stability and determination of the Group senior management team to grow the business globally now truly provides a springboard to build upon what has already been Unique Wellube’s most successful year ever in terms of both revenue generation and expansion”.
The newly acquired service company will continue to operate from the group’s headquarters in Sharjah and its operational support bases in Qatar and West Africa.
UMG manufactures, supplies and integrates specialized Marine, Survey and Diving equipment to meet specific client requirements. Its product and service range includes the design and manufacture of air, mixed gas & saturation diving equipment, marine winches, certified man-rider winches and specialized subsea equipment.
UMG recently released a wide range of products, including the Trellebord products, EMCE Winches, Kongsberg DP System and Seaflex flexible buoyancy products.
The company was also nominated for the ADIPEC Awards 2012 under the category of Best MENA Oil & Gas HSE Project,” for its Oman project titled “Oil Waste Reception and Processing.” Theproject aimed to provide a port reception facility for treating ship slops, sludge and bunkering of ships fuel oil. Nature Group Plc, together with Unique Maritime Group were awarded the contract to provide the design, installation, commissioning and training for a MARPOL Port Reception Facility at a brand new purpose build dry-dock commissioned by the Oman Government, the project was delivered in June this year.
