Japan’s Kokuka Courageous tanker, which was damaged in the Gulf of Oman last week, has arrived off the UAE coast.

“Kokuka Courageous has arrived safely at the designated anchorage at Sharjah,” BSM, which manages the tanker, said on Sunday.

The tanker, which was carrying methanol, was towed after the attack after it was revealed that the vessel was not in danger of sinking or losing its cargo.

“One crew man from the Kokuka Courageous was slightly injured in the incident and has received first aid treatment,” BSM said. “He is now back on board the Kokuka Courageous.”

The entire crew is on board the ship, and BSM noted that action to assess damage to the ship and to transfer its cargo would follow the port authorities’ standard security checks.

Both Saudi Arabia and the US have accused Iran of perpetrating the attacks. The latter released footage on Friday which it says shows an Iranian patrol boat removing an unexploded limpet mine from the tanker.
