2. Abdul Munim Saif Al-Kindy – CEO Adco.
With Adco looking to find an international partner for its onshore concessions later in the year, 2014 promises to be a crucial year for the Adnoc subsidiary.
Al-Kindy will have to decide whether to continue working with the Western oil majors who have been working in partnership with Adnoc for the previous 75 years, or to allow Asian oil companies to enter the fray, thereby cultivating lucrative ties for export purposes with the Far East.

3. Hussain Al-Sharistani – Iraqi deputy prime minister.
With Iraq announcing plans to increase its production levels to staggering 9 million barrels per day by 2020 Iraq’s deputy prime minister will have considerable work to do in the coming years. As Iraq’s deputy prime minister, Al Sharistani will be responsible for steering the trajectory of the region’s most ambitious country.

4. Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Rumhy – Minister of oil & gas, Oman.
Oman is seen as a leading light in the process of workforce localisation and much of that accolade must be credited to the hard work of Al-Ruhmy.
Oman has recently embarked on a number of public spending initiatives which have raised the required price per barrel it requires for its economy to around $105 per barrel. In the coming year, Al Rumhy will have to decide whether Oman will sell off some of its foreign assets to balance the books.
Oman has proven reserves of 5.5 billion barrels of oil.

5. Ali Bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi – Minister of Petroleum and mineral resources, KSA.
Al-Naimi is the minister for petroleum and mineral resources for Opec’s number 1 producer of oil, Saudi Arabia.
Al-Naimi began his career at Saudi Aramco and in 1983 was the first Saudi to hold the position of President of Saudi Aramco. Al Naimi has served as Saudi Arabia’s minister of petroleum and mineral resources since August 1995.

6. Wael Sawan – Executive Vice President and Chairman, Qatar Shell.
As Shell’s most senior representative in Qatar, Sawan is responsible for overseeing the Pearl Gas to Liquid’s project – a $19 billion joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Shell.

7. Saif Al Ghafli – CEO, Abu Dhabi Gas Development Company.
With the region looking to sour gas sites to play an increasingly prominent role in the Middle East’s energy mix, Al Ghafli will be charged with ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency at the UAE’s Shah gas field. The UAE is believed to have reserves of 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. When the Shah fields come online in the first quarter of 2015, they will process an estimated 1 billion cubic feet of gas per day.

8. Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi – Managing Director – Rasgas.
As Qatar’s second biggest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer, Rasgas is a serious player in the regions oil & gas scene. Al Mohannadi has been a board member of Rasgas since 1993 and MD since April 2007.

9. Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi – Director General Adnoc.
The UAE is planning to up its production levels to 3.5 million barrels of oil per day (2013’s figure was around the 2.8mbpd mark). In order to do this the UAE will spend as much as $65 billion to boost its crude oil export capacity.

10. Raoul Restucci – Managing Director PDO Oman.
Restucci served as an Executive Vice President and Country Chairman for the Shell Group of Companies – Dubai & North Emirates at Royal Dutch Shell plc since September 2010. Mr. Restucci served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Shell Exploration & Production Company of Shell Oil Company since August 2003. Now, Restucci serves as the managing director of PDO Oman, where he is responsible for the day to day running of the company.
