The Gulf Technical and Safety Training Centre (GTSC), a subsidiary of AlMansoori Specialized Engineering has recently obtained the NEBOSH accreditation to run courses leading to International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH IGC) and Award in Health and Safety at Work (NEBOSH HSW).
This is especially crucial for the region’s oil and gas personnel who need to understand and appreciate the health and safety procedures required in the event of an emergency.
In addition to this, GTSC has in the last few months received a series of international accreditation and certifications.
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH IGC)
The NEBOSH IGC is a globally recognised qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world including the Middle East, the West Indies and Southeast Asia.
The course which is run over 12 days by GTSC is open to managers, supervisors and employees who require a broad knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety principles and practices.
The qualification focuses on international standards and management systems, enabling candidates to effectively discharge workplace health and safety responsibilities in any employment sector, in all parts of the world. The NEBOSH IGC is also suitable for those embarking on a career in health and safety, providing a sound basis for progression on to the NEBOSH International Diploma.
NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work (NEBOSH HSW)
This introductory qualification is aimed at helping to improve the safety culture in an organisation, by equipping the workforce to identify and deal with hazards at work helping to reduce accidents and achieving cost savings for the business. The course is run over 3 days and is for anyone who needs to understand the principles of health and safety as part of their job.

GTSC receives CIEH training centre status
GTSC is now a registered training centre with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health UK, (CIEH) to deliver Level 1 & 2 for Health & Safety in the Workplace Training which will allow trainees to receive CIEH International Certification upon successful completion.
Accreditation of IADC Drilling Diploma
GTSC has received approval from the International Association for Drilling Contractors (IADC), USA.
“This makes GTSC a unique training Centre globally with unparalleled International Accreditations and Certifications,” the company said in a statement.
IADC Drilling Diploma, a 24-week (six months) training programme designed to develop inexperienced engineers to become a certified driller by IADC.
The programme consists of classroom learning, practical on drilling simulators & rig and field experiences developing their skills.
