Libya NOC completes first development drilling well in Erawn field

Libya NOC has completed the first development well E04 in the Erawn field, which is operated by Zelaf Oil and Gas Company (ZLOG).

The well was put through a production test after drilling and completion, using zero gas flaring to avoid any hydrocarbon burning. Daily production from the well reached 1,800 barrels per day.

The well is still being tested with different choke sizes until the well and reservoir are properly evaluated.

The crude oil produced from the Erawn field is then transported to the closest surface facilities about 100 km from the field, in the Akakos Sharara field.

In a press statement, Libya NOC noted that there were many challenges while starting operations.
