Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded two contracts worth approximately $96mn for the construction of KV11 substation power plants in Burgan field, according to Al-Anba. The power plants will supply electricity to submersible electric pumps in the field, Al-Anba reported, citing anonymous sources.

The first contract, worth $53.8mn, was reportedly awarded to Al-Ghanim International Company. The second contract, worth $42mn, was awarded to Heavy Engineering Industries Company. The scope of work for each contract was not disclosed.

Al-Anba wrote that KOC plans to build 15 main power stations in Burgan Al Kabir field, with some of the existing stations to be replaced.
