Hyundai E&C reportedly wins $2.4bn Iraq seawater facility contract

Hyundai Engineering & Construction has reportedly won a $2.4bn contract to build a seawater supply facility in Iraq. Local news outlet The Korea Times reported that it had received a letter of intent from Basrah Oil Company for the Common Seawater Supply Project. 

According to ProTenders, the project’s scope requires the construction of a 12.5mn barrels per day seawater treatment facility in Basra.

By 2020, it will supply water to West Qurna-1, West Qurna-2, Zubair, Majnoon, Missan, Rumaila, Halfaya, Gharraf and other field for injection to increase pressure and production.
