Kuwait and Saudi Arabia could reach an agreement to restart production in the Neutral Zone this year, Khalid Al-Falih said on Wednesday, according to Reuters.
“We hope in 2019 it will be resolved,” Reuters quoted him as saying. He also said that he was confident of the possibility of a resolution this year. Al-Falih met with Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, on Tuesday.
The Neutral Zone, which lies between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait’s borders, includes the Khafji and Wafra fields, which would add 500,000 barrels per day of production.
