Arabtec unit wins $142mn contract from Tecnicas Reunidas

It will provide mechanical and electrical construction works for ADNOC Onshore’s Bu Hasa Integrated Field Development project

Target Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arabtec, has won a $142mn contract from Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas to provide mechanical and electrical consruction works for ADNOC Onshore’s Bu Hasa Integrated Field Development. The project aims to increase Bu Hasa’s production output from 550,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 650,000 bpd by 2020. 

Work will commence in May 2019 for a duration of 30 months, and will involve the construction and expansion of existing Bu Hasa oil pad hubs, gas lift phase two and produced water re-injection phase one and two. 

“We are delighted to be appointed by Tecnicas Reunidas to carry out the mechanical and electrical construction works for ADNOC Onshore,” said Hamish Tyrwhitt, group CEO of Arabtec Holding. “This is another oil and gas project which demonstrates Target’s strength in the industrial sector as we continue to build on our core competencies in our core markets.”

This is part of ADNOC’s plan to invest $1.4bn towards expanding Bu Hasa field with the ultimate goal of increasing the company’s total oil production capacity to 4mbpd by 2020. Tecnicas Reunidas was awarded the EPC contract, and the full scope of work is expected to take 39 months.
