Officials deny rumours about KSA selling Iran oil

A spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said that the request from Saudi Arabia to sell Iranian oil was not true. The false news that spread on news website Middle East Eye claiming that Iran has asked for help in selling oil and circumventing sanctions in talks with Saudi Arabia, was “baseless.”

“Iran’s talks with Saudi Arabia are being pursued on bilateral, regional and international issues and anything else about the issue is fundamentally baseless,” said  Khatibzadeh.

The spokesman who spoke on Monday  May 17 added that Iran’s talks with Saudi Arabia on bilateral, regional and international issues were under way for a very long time. He also commented on a recent attack on Iranian ships saying: “The attack on the vessels in high seas in the Mediterranean has been investigated; I have not seen the reports, we should wait for the relevant authorities to submit their final report about the issue.”
