The UAE’s fuel price committee announced on Friday decreased fuel rates by up to 52 fils per litre in January 2023.
Super 98 will cost AED 2.78 per litre, down from AED 3.30 in December.
Special 95 will cost AED 2.67 per litre, down from AED 3.18 in December.
And E-plus 91 will cost AED 2.59 per litre, down from AED 3.11 in December.
This is the cheapest price of petrol since January 2022, when the price for Super 98 petrol was AED 2.65, Special 95 petrol was priced at AED 2.53 and the cost of E-plus petrol was AED 2.46.
The reduction comes after fuel prices were reduced for three consecutive months in August, September and October.
But November saw prices increase by nine percent, in line with the global surge in energy prices.
For the past seven years, the fuel price committee has met on a monthly basis to announce revised rates.
