With a striking increase in submissions this year, our judging panel had to scrutinise a competitive crop of candidate from across the upstream, midstream, downstream and utilities sectors. The shortlist represented some of the best in the industry, but ultimately, one winner and one highly commended nomination were chosen.

The winner of the Digital Enabler of the Year 2019:

Enova was awarded the inaugural Digital Enabler of the Year award for its Hubgrade 4.0 solution, which one judge said “has resulted in major saving over the last few years, over 20% in some facilities, and has become a reference for all clients of the company.”

Hubgrade 4.0 manages the connection of more than 15,000 live data points, and has evolved over time to meet the industry’s needs.

“This tool has been in constant development with us, and today allows for a lot more functionality and ability to monitor and control all our assets, the assets we have under energy performance contracts,” said Francisco Ramalheira, director of business development and marketing at Enova.

Highly commended for Digital Enabler of the Year 2019:
The ‘highly commended’ nomination in this category was the MindSphere Application Centre in Abu Dhabi, by Siemens.

The jury panel this year, comprising six judges – Abhay Bhargava, director, industrial practice, MEA, Frost & Sullivan; Ali Al Janabi, UAE country chair, vice president, Shell Upstream, Shell Group of companies; Bart Cornelissen, energy, resources & industrials leader, Middle East, Deloitte Middle East; Joseph J Anis, president and CEO, power services and gas power systems, MENASA, GE Power; Nicholas Cochrane-Dyet, special advisor to the chief representative, BP Oil International; Vinod Raghothamarao, director, energy wide perspectives and strategy, IHS Markit EMEA– considered the merit of the nominees, and decided the winner and the ‘highly commended’.
