HE Saif Humaid Al Falasi was selected by the editors of Oil & Gas Middle East, Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East, and Utilities Middle East as the inaugural recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the newly rebranded Middle East Energy Awards. He was chosen because of the visible, positive impact he has made on the regional industry, with almost 40 years in the development and progress of the sector.
Al Falasi was appointed as the chief executive officer of ENOC Group in March 2015. He spearheads the group’s business strategy and operational excellence locally and internationally, in alignment with the vision and plans of the Government of Dubai.
A 39-year veteran in the energy industry, Al Falasi’s wealth of experience and in-depth industry knowledge spans a wide range of specialties including project management and petroleum asset evaluation operations.Â
He joined ENOC in 2008 as Group General Manager. In 2011, he was appointed Executive Director for Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) and the Corporate Affairs Directorate. Prior to his assignment with ENOC, Al Falasi worked with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for 25 years and was a Board member of National Marine Services.
Al Falasi is Chairman of Gulf Energy Maritime and a Board member of the Supreme Council of Energy and the Green Energy Council.
Al Falasi holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, USA. In 2014, he was awarded Fellowship of the UK Energy Institute, recognizing his leadership of the ENOC Energy and Resource Management Programme. In July 2018, he received an honorary degree of Doctor of Engineering by Heriot-Watt University in Dubai for his four decades of significant contribution to the energy industry in the region.
