Cybersecurity for energy and utilities: Event to take place in May

Registration for the Cybersecurity for Energy & Utilities Conference is now open

The energy and utilities sector is increasingly reliant on digital technologies and automation to optimise operations and deliver services, making cyber security a critical concern.

Protecting against cyber threats is essential for ensuring business continuity and preventing potentially devastating consequences for the wider economy and society. In the GCC region, the energy and utility sectors are particularly vulnerable, with 50% of cyber security attacks targeting these industries.

To mitigate this risk, companies in this sector must prioritise robust cyber security measures, including securing digital assets and systems, conducting regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and providing employee training in best practices for cyber security.

In line with these developments, the third Cybersecurity for Energy & Utilities Conference will take place on May 22-23 at Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl Abu Dhabi.

The theme for the conference will be Driving OT, IT and IIOT Cyber Resilience in the IR 4.0 Era.

The events aims to provide an annual platform for industry experts from the region’s national oil and gas companies, power generation, and utilities, to meet and share knowledge and contribute to the development of cyber resilience of the industry. The conference will address the emerging cyber threats, explore the best practices and solutions to identify and prevent vulnerabilities and effectively safeguard IT and OT systems, and key strategies to ensure a successful digitalisation and business continuity with minimal risks.
