Software solution provider Bentley Systems announced today that Oman Gas Company S.A.O.C. (OGC) is a finalist in Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure 2018 Awards. OGC was nominated for its Asset Performance Solution for Reliability Management in the Going Digital Advancements in Utilities and Industrial Asset Performance category.
“A couple of [things our jury are probably looking for] would be innovative use of the technology, what are the tangible and quantifiable results by using such technology, how it will help them in mangement of the operation and how it is reducing the cost, how they have made operational maintenane improvement,” said Debabrata Chakraborty, regional director of Bentley Systems. Bentley’s Year in Infrastructure 2018 Awards recognizes advances in design, construction and operations of infrastructure using its software.Â
OGC distributes gas to 4.4 million people and many economic industry facilities. In order to maintain consistency, it developed a reliability and integrity program that digitized, automated, and compiled all reliability and integrity data and management tasks into one platform with Bentley’s AssetWise.
Chakraborty also noted that the technology is really about making the right information available to the right stakeholders at the right time; without that, decision-making power is at risk.
The other two finalists in OGC’s category are India’s Vedanta Limited – Cairn Oil and Gas for its Well Integrity and Flow Assurance Management project, and Russia’s Volgogradnefteproekt LLC for its Object Modeling and Life Cycle Management: Project Implementation and Commissioning.
OGC is one of a total of 57 finalists, in 19 categories, chosen from 420 nominations. Winners will be announced on October 18.
