This year, the judging panel for the Oil & Gas Middle East and Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East Awards received a competitive crop of candidates for each of the 10 award categories. Each candidate was scrutinised until the judging panel was able to decide on a shortlist, and ultimately one winner and one ‘highly commended’ were chosen.

Shivananda Baikady (right), general manager for road transport and warehousing, Tristar Group, who received the ‘Logistics Service Provider of the Year’ Award on behalf of Tristar Transport, said: “This award means a lot to a company like Tristar, which is actively participating in all logistics and supply chain activities. Today, Tristar is largely focused on oil and gas supply chain requirements. We have recently won a contract from ADNOC for the supply of petrochemicals in this region for the next five years.”
The ‘highly commended’ nomination in this category is RSA Talke for its dedicated efforts towards health, safety and the environment.
The jury panel this year, comprising five judges – Luciano Poli, president, India, Middle East and North Africa, Dow; Vivek Chandra, CEO and founder, Texas LNG; Nicholas Kjaer, general manager, Middle East, Churchill Drilling Tools; Ben Oudman, regional manager, DNV GL, oil and gas, Continental Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, India and Africa; and Annabel Green, chief technology officer, Tendeka – considered the merit of each and every entry, and decided the winner and the ‘highly commended’.
