Saudi Aramco awarded today the first integrated services contract for its Marjan oilfield expansion to Baker Hughes (BHGE). BHGE will provide drilling services, coiled tubing services and drilling fluids engineering services for the expansion project, which is Saudi Aramco’s largest upstream development this year.
“The Marjan oilfield is one of the major upstream developments this year that will contribute to the Kingdom’s oil production strengths, helping maintain capacity and meet domestic and global demand,” said Mohammed Y. Al Qahtani, senior vice president of Upstream at Saudi Aramco.
BHGE is slated to commerce work this month with the goal of increasing the field’s capacity. It will provide services including logging-while-drilling, reservoir navigation services and rotary steerable services.
