The Sparrows Group, a global provider of specialist equipment and integrated engineering services to the energy industries, has appointed heavy lifting equipment supplier Superkrane as its sole agent in Indonesia.
The new agreement brings together offshore and onshore crane and lifting equipment specialists to create a partnership that can deliver a broad range of equipment and services to the energy and industrial industries.
As part of the collaboration Superkrane will have exclusive rights to supply Sparrows original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and components in the country. This includes all crane brands that Sparrows hold intellectual property rights (IPR) for such as American Aero, Houston System, Bucyrus Erie Marine, Weatherford and Energy cranes.
Superkrane provides a variety of onshore rental cranes and related machinery to a range of industries and has offices, workshops and yard facilities, as well as a dedicated training centre, in Jakarta that will become Sparrows’ base in the area.
Stewart Mitchell, chief executive officer of Sparrows said: “Superkrane is a well-respected and established brand in Indonesia and our partnership with them allows us to assure quality and safety to our customers.
“There are over 200 cranes which we hold the IPR for in operation across Indonesia today and it is hugely important to us that customers know where they can purchase genuine OEM parts with a certified warranty.
“We have worked in Indonesia for a number of years but Superkrane’s impressive facility and local knowledge will support us in expanding our service offering further, including the delivery of crane operator training.”
Linayati Sukardi, managing director of Superkrane commented: “We are pleased to have been appointed as a trusted supplier for Sparrows parts and equipment. As the only supplier in Indonesia we will stock in-demand parts at our facilities to ensure a fast and competitive service to the market.
“With the benefit of Sparrows expertise and experience we look forward to being able to provide a larger range of services to both the offshore and onshore market.”
The Sparrows Group maintains a training centre in Abu Dhabi as well as a base in Dubai and Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
