The International District Energy Association (IDEA) has appointed Tabreed’s PR and communications manager, Rita Chahoud, as its executive director in the region.
“It is a great honour for me and I look forward to the challenge of promoting this environmentally-friendly and energy efficient technology in what is undoubtedly one of the largest markets for cooling services,” said Chahoud, who will work out of IDEA’s Dubai offices while continuing in her role with Tabreed.
“Regional governments and major real estate developers have started realising the cost-effectiveness and reliability of using district cooling technology to meet the ever-increasing cooling demands due to rapid urbanisation.
“We need to highlight the other important advantages of the solution such as scalability and low maintenance charges.”
The IDEA is a not-for-profit trade association that provides a forum for district energy professionals.
