Kufpec signs deal to develop oilfields in Pakistan

Signing took place during a visit by Pakistan’s oil minister Shahid Abbasi to the country

Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC) has signed a memorandum of understanding to develop oil fields and increase cooperaiton in Pakistan’s energy sector.

The signing took place during a visit by Pakistan’s oil minister Shahid Abbasi to the country, Kuwait petroleum Corporation, Kufpec mother company, said in a statement on Sunday.

Kufpec has been present in the South Asian country for over 25 years and has invested over one billion US dollars to obtain operating licenses in the Sindh Province in the southeast.

Kuwait’s foreign exploration arm currently operates the Jati exploration block and was recently awarded an exploration license for the Paharpur Block in th north of the country.
