Schlumberger is celebrating the recognition of its successful implementation of Losseal, the company’s engineered fiber based loss circulation control solution to effectively cure losses while drilling, cementing and work over in Middle East countries.
The company received the Best Technology Implementation award last night at the 2012 Oil & Gas Awards.
Losseal tackles a significant problem faced by operators in the field of Production Operations Management. Going beyond traditional ideas, Schlumberger has developed an engineered solution that is a constant problem for many operators in a region of fractured and fissured limestone formations, lost circulation plagues local operations and can lead to cost over-runs, HSE concerns and cement job failure.
Building on its recent successes, the company plans to continue expanding its operations in the Middle East region. “The main focus for us is the Middle East, Oman and Iraq. Iraq in 2012 saw a lot of activity so in 2013 we expect more implantation of technologies in Iraq, there will be a need for innovative ways to improve operations,” said Bipin Jain, Well Integrity Doman Manager for Schlumberger, who received the award.
The awards evening, organised by Oil & Gas Middle East and ArabianOilandGas.com, had its third outing last night at Dubai’s luxury Westin Hotel.
Awards were presented in thirteen categories, and Schlumberger celebrated alongside firms including Total, Shell on the winners’ podium.
