Edutech Middle East, a provider of technology-enabled learning solutions, has announced the launch of its complete pilot plant training system for process plant operators in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries at the Gulf Educational Supplies Show 2008.
With the drive of the ‘Nationalisation Program’ further intensifying the demand for skilled operators, organisations are now faced with the challenges of developing skilled manpower to meet the industry standards.
“Due to the exceptional economic and industrial development in the region, we are witnessing a significant movement focused on developing local talent as part of the aggressive efforts of governments across the region to ensure the success of the ‘Nationalisation Program’,” said ASF Karim, CEO, Edutech.
“We have identified the Gulf Educational Supplies Show as an important platform to launch our technology-enabled training solutions and demonstrate the expansive advantages of our complete pilot plant training systems. Our aim is to leverage the attendance of representatives from leading colleges, universities and training centres through our presence at this event,” he added.
To aid in bridging the skills gap in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries workforce, Edutech has developed a range of pilot plant training systems covering mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and process operation. This includes courses in process control, extraction, distillation column, gas absorption, water treatment, chemical reactors, hydrocracking, LNG and GTL.
“We believe that the emergence of more specialised and technologically-forward learning equipment and solutions is the first and probably one of the most important steps towards absorbing more local talents into the UAE’s important business and industrial sectors,” said Karim.
“By providing a rich supply of training resources from introductory to advanced laboratory coursework, we can expect improvements in the curriculum as well as in the overall performance of both students and instructors,” he concluded.
