Iraq’s Oil Ministry has confirmed that it exported 2.65 million barrels a day of oil in August, generating the highest monthly oil export revenue in two decades.

In a statement on its website, the ministry said it pumped a total 79.5 million barrels for export in August, bringing in revenue of $8.445 billion.

Oil Ministry spokesman Assim Jihad said that the total figures consisted of Basra exports of 69.8 million barrels generating $7.414 billion and Kirkuk exports of 9.7 million barrels generating $1.031 billion.

The average oil price realized over the period was $106.226 a barrel.

Exports reached 37 customers through marine terminals at Basra and Khor Al-Amia, the Turkish Ceyhan port on the Mediterranean and by tanker trucks to Jordan.
