Alfanar Construction Company has won a contract for the US $133.3 million construction of the Hiteen 380/132KV substation.

This station will be linked to several existing substations, as well as the 380KV overhead transmission lines in Riyadh, and is due to be completed in 2011.

The contract was signed by Saudi Electricity Company CEO Ali Saleh Al-Barrak and Alfanar vice chairman Sabah Al-Mutlaq.

This project is part of Saudi Electricity Company’s plan to enhance the power supply capacity to meet the growing demand for electricity in Riyadh.

At present, Alfanar is executing several projects for the Saudi Electricity Company valued at more than $1.2 billion in different parts of the Kingdom.

Among the most important of these is the 380KV substation project at West Makkah, which has a contract value of $118.5 million.
