ArabianOilandGas.com’s recent exclusive regarding Tecnimont being named as the winner of a US$1 billion-plus contract with the UAE-based Ruwais Fertilisers Industries (Fertil) has prompted some conflicting comments from our readers.
In fact we’ve had comments from readers stating that the two opposing bidders are in pole to be awarded the contract to construct an ammonia plant and urea train.
Marco from Rome in Italy said: “As far as I know Saipem has offered the best technical proposal and is the only bidder which is in compliance with most of ITB requirements.”
And Cho from Kuwait said: “As per another information source, Fertil recommends Uhde and Samsung Consortium for this contract and waiting for shareholder’s approval.”
Abdelghani Henni, the journalist who wrote the original story for AO&G.com, maintains that his source is impeccable and that Tecnimont is the horse to bet on.
