A senior official from Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS) has said that the company predicts that its Das Island plant will be bring fresh production on stream in the second quarter of 2010.
Reuters reported that deputy general manager Hasan al Marzooqi said that 85% of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be supplied to the Tokyo Electirc Power Company in Japan.
“Development is proceeding very well and we are on schedule to commission around the end of the second quarter of this year, when we will send for the first time offshore gas to onshore facilities,” Marzooqi is reported as saying.
ADGAS is a subsidiary of the state-owned energy giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation (ADNOC). The company expects gas production to exceed 211 million cubic feet per day in the second quarter of the year.
