The Algerian state-owned energy giant Sonatrach has announced that the dollar value of its oil and gas exports from January to August of 2009 stood at about US$27 billion.
“Revenues from oil and gas made from January till end of August 2009 reached over $27 billion,” CEO, Mohamed Meziane is quoted by oficial news agency APS as saying.
Meziane blamed the drop in price for oil and gas for the 52% drop in revenues, to $19 billion, for the first half of 2009 compared to the corresponding period of 2008.
Sonatrach posted revenues of $76 billion for 2008.
