Two contractors have emerged as the favourites to be awarded a US$150 million fuel storage contract by a subsidiary of the energy giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
MEED reported that Lebanon’s Contracting & Trading and the UAE-based Al Jaber Energy have both submitted bids to ADNOC Fuel Oil Distribution for the contract to build fuel storage facilities at Hamriyah in Sharjah.
“They say that they need approval from management before they can open the bids and that they haven’t received it yet. We don’t know what the hold up is,” a source from one of the bidders is quoted by MEED as saying.
The winning bidder will build nine storage tanks with a capacity of 83,000 cubic meters. Refined oil products including jet fuel, diesel, gasoline and fuel oil will be stored at the facility.
