The 8th edition of the Oil & Gas and Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East Awards 2017 has engaged all quarters of the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the regional energy industry.
This enthusiasm has resulted in a significant increase in the number of nominations received by the Awards team this year – a rise of 33% compared to last year’s Awards.
The nominations window for the Awards closed this week on July 31st. During this 82-day period, many companies and individuals from across all segments and verticals within the energy sector sent in their entries across the 12 Awards categories.
The total number companies submitting nominations soared by 43% over last year’s event.
“It is fair to recognise that the new digital platform we introduced for Awards nominations this year has played its part in boosting entries – having made it considerably more quick and convenient for entrants to submit documents and information about their work and achievements,” Indrajit Sen, deputy editor of Oil & Gas Middle East, said .
“The numbers speak for themselves, and these encouraging statistics are proof of the overwhelming desire for recognition and reward among the teams working hard in the energy sector,” he said.
The nominations have now been sent to the six awards judges, who comprise the jury panel this year, and who will now consider the merits of each and every entry.
The results will be announced later this month, with the Awards event set to take place on Tuesday, September 12th from 1pm at the Four Seasons Resort, Dubai.
