Mohammad Al Mojil Group, a large Saudi Arabian civil engineering firm has been handed a 37-month contract by Saudi Aramco, according to basic facts released today on the Saudi Stock Exchange. The contract is worth US$169.6 million.
The Tadawul update describes the package of work as covering “The implementation of the engineering, design, procurement and construction of the installations of industrial support. In addition the remit covers the development of a residential and industrial complex in and around a gas plant”.
Although not specified, it is likely the gas plant in question is part of the giant Wasit development.
In March this year MMG signed two separate contracts with Saudi Aramco with a cumulative value of $275 million. The first contract worth of $58.6 million to design, procure, construct, and commission Industrial Support Facilities for the Wasit Gas Plant in the Eastern Province.
The second contract MMG signed with Aramco is worth around $216.2 million to procure and build Saudi Aramco’s YERP Interconnecting Systems Package (SP-6) in Yanbu. The scope of work for the second contract will include procurement, manpower supply, management and supervision, civil work, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation tasks. TheYERP project will commence immediately and is scheduled to complete in 2014.
MMG has two steel fabrication plants located in Dammam and Rabigh. The steel plants are specifically involved in pipe works, structural steel works and plate works. The plants have the capacity to produce up to 350 tons of high-quality piping within a single shift.
