Temporary power and cooling supplier, Rental Solutions & Services (RSS) has installed the Middle East’s largest temporary chiller plant built by a rental company on the Palm Jumeirah island in Dubai.
The plant consists of 38 air-cooled chillers with a combined production capacity of 7,676 tonnes of refrigeration.
The unit is powered by 16 acoustically containerised generators ranging from 800 KVA to 1 500 KVA. The system is designed to achieve an 8.8 degree Celsius (°C) Delta T with a leaving water temperature of 5°C in ambient temperatures of 46°C.

The plant was ordered by Palm District Cooling which provides chilling to the man-made island. The temporary system will supply cooling during the construction phase of the Crescent, the Lost World theme park and the Atlantis Hotel projects.
The installation was completed two days ahead of schedule, RSS said.
