 A joint venture between Punj Lloyd and Limak has secured a $409m contract to construct the 459km pipeline for the Tanap Gas Pipeline project in Turkey.
The Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) will be built to transport natural gas emanating from the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) pipeline in Georgia and terminating into the TransAdriatic Pipeline (TAP) in Greece.
The Tanap Dogalgaz Iletim-controlled project is expected to take 35 months to execute.
President and CEO, Pipelines and Tankage, Atul Jain said: “This is the second project for Punj LloydLimak JV in Turkey.
“In laying the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, popularly known as the Pipeline of the Century in Turkey and Georgia, the Punj Lloyd Limak JV was awarded the ‘Best Contractor’s Award’.
“We were then the only Indian contractor to execute the transnational pipeline and even now I am proud to state that we are the only Indian company to win a pipeline TANAP order.
“With our extensive knowledge of the region’s topography and our internationally recognised best practices.”
