The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has said that a fire at a crude oil storage tank located near the al-Mugwa field has been brought under control with no impact to production.
Reuters reported that Mohammed Husain, deputy chairman of KOC, said that “it is not out yet but it is under control”, when talking to reporters in Abu Dhabi.
The official said that the fire started in a dual tank at an oil and gas gathering facility known as GC-10.
The Gulf state has got 14 such facilities and due to the fire brought an idle one on stream to compensate.
