Qatar has agreed a deal to supply Turkey with more than a billion cubic metres (BCM) of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that Qatar has agreed to send 1.2bcm of LNG to Turkey during the winter months to help cover demand, Reuters said.

The shipments would be made in nine cargoes, said Yildiz, speaking in Doha in comments broadcast live by Turkish state broadcaster TRT Haber, the news agency added.
