Qatargas and Shell have signed an agreement to work together in researching liquefied natural gas (LNG) logistics.

The two firms will look into ways to improve supply chains that deliver to LNG global markets. The research will be carried out the Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre at the Qatar Science and Technology Park.

“This research partnership we hope will develop and enhance our logistics and supply chain capabilities to allow Qatargas to deliver energy to our customers in the most effective and efficient manner possible as we grow and expand into almost every energy market,” said Qatargas chairman and CEO Faisal Al Suwaidi.

A total of 20 Shell scientists and engineers are situated in the Qatar Shell Research and Technology Centre. The firm has committed to spending US$100 million over a ten year period on developments at the science park.
