Arab Potash and Sinochem Macau signed a memorandum of understanding in Amman on December 18, 2016, covering the supply of potash from Jordan to China for 2017-2019. The memorandum details the annual quantities which are expected to be about 2.6 million tons of potash in total.
The memorandum was signed under the patronage of HE Dr Hani Al Mulqi, the prime minister of Jordan, and HE Pan Weifang, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Amman. Feng Me Wei, the president of Sinochem Macau, signed on behalf of the Chinese side, while HE Jamal Al Sarayrah, Arab Potash chairman, signed on behalf of the Jordanian side.
This agreement comes after more than 25 years of partnership between the two companies where Jordanian potash was supplied to the Chinese market to play a very important role in providing food security, and soil nutrition and farm inputs.
