Honeywell has announced the release of Series 3000MkII gas detector which offers a more robust aluminum or stainless steel enclosure.

The enclosure also has two cable gland entries and is a direct replacement for the Series 300 XPIS gas detector.

The system can detect gases or oxygen in a 2-wire 4-20mA format. The wiring configuration makes the Series3000 suited to retrofitting other 2wire devices.

A combnation of hazardous area approvals ensures that Series 3000 MkII can be wired alongside flameproof devices and still permit the hot swap of a sensor without the need to down-power the device or use a hot work permit.

Series 3000 MkII also utilises a magnetically activated user interface, permitting configuration and calibration without opening the enclosure or having to obtain a hot work permit.
