Awards 2017: Behold the finalists

With hours left for the 8th edition of the Oil & Gas and Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East Awards 2017 to kick off in Dubai, we reveal to you the shortlisted entries for the dozen categories this year

The energy sector, locally and globally is traversing through interesting times. Range-bound oil prices which were being considered as ‘low’ or ‘below par’ until about the beginning of this year, are today being deemed as the “new normal”.

Quite clearly, the oil and gas industry is attempting to give up traditional style of operations and endeavouring to embrace new realities.

Representative of the fact the industry has shed its inhibitions of yesteryears about accepting change and is welcoming the transitional phase has been the surge in the number of nominations received for the Oil & Gas and Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East Awards 2017.

The total number of entries received by the campaign team for the dozen Awards categories this year increased by 33% compared to last year’s Awards – proof of the enthusiasm and excitement that has been displayed from all quarters of the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the regional energy industry.

Another highlight of the Awards campaign this year has been the growth in the number of new companies joining the programme to submit nominations – a figure that has soared by 43% from last year’s event.

It is fair to recognise that the new digital platform the Awards campaign team introduced for nominations this year has played its part in boosting entries – having made it considerably convenient and swift for entrants to submit documents and information about their work and achievements.

Numbers speak for themselves, and the encouraging statistics obtained at the end of the Awards nomination period is proof enough of the overwhelming desire for recognition and celebration that prevails in a multitude of stakeholders.

The Awards campaign team is immensely proud about the manner in which the event has been received by the regional industry this year, and feel enthused by the fact that the event continues to grow in stature and is enabling both the publications to reach out to more industry players every year.

Just hours before the eighth edition of the Awards get underway at the Four Seasons Dubai Jumeirah hotel, we are excited to present to you the shortlisted nominations, which were selected from amongst multiple entries received for each of the dozen categories this year.
