Algerian State Energy controlled (Sonatrach) has announced five hydrocarbons discoveries in the Berkine Basin, Illizi and Amguid/Hassi Messaoud, the company said in statement.
These discoveries have been made following the drilling of the following wells:
Menzel Ledjemet South West -2 (MLSW-2), East Menzel Ledjemet Center-2 (EMLC-2) located at the perimeter at Menzel Ledjemet (bloc 405a), Rhourde El Helba-2 (RHB-2),located in the perimeter Zemoul El Kbar II (bloc 403d) in Berkine Basin.
The well MLSW-2 drained from the reservoir TAGS 5.40 m3/h of condensates and 6995 m3/h of gas with a casing pressure of 1650 PSI choke line 32/64”, the well EMLC-2 has produced from two reservoirs with drain of TAGI 6.88 m3/h of oil with casing pressure of 433 PSI choke line 24/64 in the tournaisian F1a 10739 m3/h of gas with casing pressure of 3184 PSI choke line 24/64 and the well RHB-2 has produced oil frol the two reservoirs which drained respectively at the Gedinnien 14.38 m3/h with a casing pressure of 1050 PSI choke line and the Siegenien- D 11.14 m3/h with casing pressure of 668 PSI choke line32/64.
Erg El Ouar North-1 (EERN-1) located in the perimeter El Ouar II (bloc 212b)/ Illizi Basin, has produced gas from the two reservoirs the TAGI and the Siegenien have drained , choke line 32/64”, respectively 1478 m3/h with casing pressure of 400 PSI and 4838 m3/h with casing pressure of 917 PSI.
Hassi El Gassi-1 (HGI-1), located in the perimeter Hassi D’Zabat (blocs: 427 & 439), Basin Amguid/Hassi Messaoud. Drained from the reservoir Ordovician (Quartzite of Hamra and Gresof El Atchane) 4 m3/h with casing pressure of 200 PSI choke line32/64.
These new discoveries increase the number of total discoveries to 16 in 2009; nine of them are by Sonatrach alone, and seven in joint ventures.
