Badr Jafar has been as announced as the Energy Executive of the Year at the Oil&Gas Middle East Awards 2014.
The president of Crescent Petroleum beat off stiff competition for the honour, with Mohammed Darsi Abdulraham Nedham of Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority and Manan Goel of Gulf Petrochem Group also on the shortlist.
Speaking about the winner, the judging panel described him as “the public face of his group who continues to innovate and work to expand its global footprint,” while his adaptability and ability to work across a number of sectors and organisations made him stand out from all of the nominations.
In addition, his work and influence in a number of many non-profit roles, including his work with young people and women, was also cited as making Mr Jafar an outstanding candidate for the award.
Mr Jafar sits on the Global Board of Education for Employment (EFE), Global Honorary Board of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, is a member of the Synergos Arab World Social Innovators (AWSI) Program Board of Governors
He is also a Founding Board Member of Endeavor UAE, an initiative encouraging entrepreneurship in the Gulf Region.
