The UAE-based based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has been awarded a US$162 million contract that will see the company develop an offshore oil platform project in Mumbai for the Indian state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
Local media sources said that the scope of works for the project includes survey, design, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, commissioning as well as working on subsea pipelines and composite subsea cable.
The contract follows a recent $1 billion contract awarded by ONGC to NPCC for the construction of three wellhead platforms for various offshore oil projects in India.
NPCC is owned by the General Holding Corporation, an investment vehickle for the Abu Dhabi government, which holds a 70% interest and the Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Group which holds the remaining 30%.
