Emerson brushed aside stiff competition at the Oil & Gas Middle East Awards in Dubai and scooped the Best Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery Performance category title at a gala ceremony at the Westin Hotel last night.
The company’s entry was geared around its Smart Wireless installed base, in play at over 1000 well-sites throughout the region.
In the Middle East, production companies are installing the world´s largest wireless field instrument network in existing oil fields to help double output within the next five years. Emerson´s Smart Wireless technology is being used to help make this goal achievable.
“The technology is really being embraced by local customers. We’ve been really successful in several territories around the region with this solution,” said Cor Corbeek, general manager, Emerson Process Management who received the award.
“What we’re achieving here is acting as a really useful tool when we display our capabilities to upstream clients worldwide. We have had a really important year in overcoming some of the entrenched concerns of customers relating to security, battery life and availability,” he added.
