Syria’s oil production hits 300,000 bpd

Arab state is forecast to maintain same level of output for 40 years

Syria is currently producing 300,000 barrels of oil per day and is forecast to maintain this level of output for the next 40 years.

Minister of Oil and Minerals Sufian Al-Allaw said in a press statement on Tuesday that proven reserves of oil have been estimated at 7.2 billion barrels.

Meanwhile, the country’s gas reserves stand at 700 billion cubic meters.

The Minister also took the opportunity to announce plans to convert as many cars as possible to run on gas rather than fuel.
