Dolphin Energy has awarded its engineering, procurement and construction contract the gas processing plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar to Larsen & Toubro of India worth $250 million.
Under the terms of the contract, Larsen & Toubro will provide engineering, procurement and construction services on all necessary works to facilitate the installation of three new Rolls Royce Trent gas turbine compressors and related facilities. The $136 million contract was awarded to Rolls Royce in April.
Once complete, the three compressors which are each rated at 52 megawatts will join six similar Ross Royce compressors already servicing the plant. They will improve the overall reliability and availability of natural gas exports to the UAE and Oman.
The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
