ADNOC Distribution on Wednesday announced the reopening of Al Dar service station on Al Ittihad Road in Sharjah, its first refurbished facility to become operational under the transfer of assets agreement signed with ENOC last year.
Refurbishment works implemented by ADNOC Distribution at Al Dar service station included branding aspects and overhauling of the external and internal design to reflect the company’s identity.
Apart from eight fuel dispensers, the facility has been fitted out with conveniences such as the ADNOC Oasis, bakery, and fast food outlets.
ADNOC Distribution said in a statement that it is currently witnessing rapid growth on a UAE-wide level. Following the ‘Emarat’ acquisition and asset transfer agreement signed with ENOC, the company has increased the overall number of its service stations across the UAE to 386.
In the emirate of Sharjah, ADNOC Distribution currently hosts 31 service stations. These are in addition to the 29 service stations acquired from ‘Emarat’ and 25 service stations transferred from ENOC.
The company said it is also gearing up to inaugurate three newly built service stations in Sharjah in the areas of Al Seyouh, Al Badie and Sharjah Corniche while seven more service stations are currently in the design phase.
Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, said: “We are glad to officially open Al Dar service station, which is the first to become operational as part of the transfer of assets agreement signed with ENOC last year in accordance with our wise leadership’s vision and direction to fulfil customer needs wherever they are in the UAE.
“The reopening of Al Dar service station is anticipated to reduce the pressure on ADNOC Distribution’s network of service stations in the emirate of Sharjah and the neighbouring emirates, particularly Dubai.”
Al Dhaheri added: “We are currently working to finalise the re-opening of the 24 remaining service stations in a phased manner after conducting the overhauling and maintenance works, as well as the health, environment, safety and IT checks. As per the agreement, we are confident that the transfer of all 25 non-operational service station facilities in Sharjah to ADNOC Distribution’s network will be completed by the beginning of 2016.”
