Oilfield services company SLB, formerly Schlumberger, has expanded its “Innovation Factori” network by inaugurating a new center in Abu Dhabi. According to the company, the center will accelerate the development and deployment of enterprise-scale AI and digital solutions to meet their business demands, spanning the energy life cycle and new energy systems.
“Innovation Factori is a way for customer teams and SLB experts to work together to accelerate high impact innovation at scale, turning promising concepts into fully deployed digital solutions that deliver vast improvements in business performance and sustainability,” Tarek Rizk, SLB’s MENA president, said in a press release.
“In the MENA region, the most striking demonstration of the impact of these collaborations is an increase in people productivity by 80% when performing complete reservoir model reviews. Additionally, in a significant number of active wells, we’ve improved well performance and extended well lifetime by 15-25%.”
Since the launch of Innovation Factori in March 2021, SLB has delivered more than 200 digital innovation projects to customers around the world, supported by over 4,000 domain experts and more than 800 data scientists. The other locations are Houston, Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, Kuala Lumpur, and Oslo.
