Could you give us a brief history of your regional/global operations?

Exterran Corporation has a 60 year legacy of project success as a leader in providing midstream infrastructure solutions to the energy industry worldwide by helping to lower operational and financial risk for global operators. We have key regional offices and manufacturing facilities across the globe which allow us to service our customers with local expertise. Our midstream solutions include natural gas processing and treating, natural gas compression, produced water treatment solutions and oil and gas production equipment. We serve clients in approximately 30 countries in three ways – we sell our products, own and operate our products on behalf of our customers and provide aftermarket services and support on our products.

What are the main products/services that you provide to the industry?

Exterran provides midstream infrastructure solutions through contract operations (CO), aftermarket services and oil and gas product sales. We offer customers the flexibility to own and operate compression and processing plants with speed to first production, early monetisation of reserves and a local asset base. Exterran’s integrated business model offers designing, engineering, manufacturing and selling midstream equipment throughout the world.

Elaborate on some of the upstream projects that you have worked on.

We have three major new CO contract wins in the Middle East region, totalling a revenue more than $400mn over the next 10 years. These range from contract to design, build, own, operate and maintain (DBOOM) to (BOOM)contract extensions and continued operation and maintenance of existing facilities. The applications range from sour natural gas surface production, compressor stations and cryogenic gas trains with LPG/NGL extraction plants.

What do you think of the state of affairs in the services sector?

According to research from BMI, EIA and IEA, power needs could make the Middle East the second largest gas consumer behind the United States by 2020. Natural gas production has increased over the decade and the infrastructure continues to develop as demand grows. We plan to continue to service our customers with solutions to enable them to lower their operating costs, speed to production, capital efficiency and asset and workforce flexibility. Our success is thanks to our customers’ trust in us, the opportunity to partner early, provide appropriate support and ultimately, timely availability to meet or exceed their needs.

How do your products/services differentiate Exterran from others?

Exterran’s expertise, creativity and flexibility to meet customers’ expectations, coupled with new technical solutions to shorten delivery time while ensuring the highest possible plant performance offers compelling value. Our differentiated value-added services include a strong safety record, custom engineered solutions, field services, deep product knowledge, excellent OEM partnerships, configurable modular designs, integrated project management and reliability.

We appreciate the trust and confidence we have built with our customers and are proud of our long-standing partnerships in the Middle East region. My colleagues at Exterran invest a lot of time and energy getting to know our customers. Insight into our partners’ business challenges, concerns and end-market(s) permit us to provide the best technical and commercial solution at any given time. Our customers value our deep technical knowledge.
