The Oil & Gas Middle East Awards 2014 will be judged by an exceptional panel of independent judges hailing from consultancy and analyst groups, as well as His excellency Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of Drydocks World. The judges will be tasked with choosing the very best of the 2014 nominations across all 16 categories.Â
The judges that have chosen to take part inn these awards so far are:

Khamis Juma Buamim was appointed as the executive chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World in May 2010 and has successfully led the organisation through its restructuring during a global financial crisis. His leadership and direction have been instrumental in the company being able to acquire several pioneering projects on a global scale.
This leadership has seen the company move from close to financial failure, create major synergies, recognise potential and place the organisation firmly on a path driven to sustainable profitability and growth.
An oil and gas industry veteran, he was chairman and CEO of Regional Clean Sea Organisation (the Gulf oil industry organisation).
Prior to joining RECSO, he was with Conoco and ConocoPhillips for 26 years in various management positions, including vice president of Dubai Petroleum Company (DPC), a ConocoPhillips affiliate company in the United Arab Emirates. Buamim is the executive chairman of Dubai Maritime City and a member of Dubai World Management Committee.
He is also the chairman of the recently formed Dubai Council for Marine and Maritime Industries.
Robin Mills
Head of Consulting, Manaar Energy Consulting & Project Management
Robin Mills, head of Consulting at Manaar Energy (Dubai), is an expert on Middle East energy strategy and economics. He is the author of two books, The Myth of the Oil Crisis and Capturing Carbon, columnist on energy and environmental issues, and comments widely on energy issues in the media, including the Financial Times, Foreign Policy, Atlantic, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg and others.
Mills worked for a decade for Shell, concentrating on new business development in the Middle East, followed by six years with Dubai Holding and the Emirates National Oil Company.
Mills is an advisor to the Berkeley Programme on Middle East Entrepreneurship and Development, a member of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), and non-resident scholar at the Institute for Near-East and Gulf Military Analysis (INEGMA). He holds a first-class degree in Geology from the University of Cambridge, and speaks five languages including Arabic and Farsi.
Terry Willis
Director, Middle East | EICUK Middle East (Branch)
Terry Willis spent the first 22 years of his career with BICC Cables, the first half based in the UK and then the second part located around the Gulf in Qatar, Bahrain and later, in Saudi Arabia where he was appointed country manager from 1987.
Repatriated in 1991 due to the first Gulf War, he returned permanently back to the Middle East when he arrived in Dubai in 1996 for CMP Products, a UK manufacturer of cable terminations that focuses on the oil & gas industries.
In 2004, he set up the regional office of The EIC, the UK’s Trade Association for UK companies whose businesses are concentrated and focused within the global energy sector.
The EIC is the leading trade association for UK companies supplying goods and services to the energy industries worldwide. It has around 730 member companies and provide them with the capability to understand, identify and pursue global business opportunities.
The membership comprises contractors and suppliers from all areas of the energy sector that make a significant contribution to the UK economy. Terry holds a Diploma in Marketing and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Louis Besland
Partner, at Kearney
Louis Besland is an AT Kearney partner and leads the Energy and Chemicals Practices in the Middle East. He is the managing partner of the Abu Dhabi office. Besland is a recognised international thought leader in strategy development for the energy and chemicals sectors.
During his 25 years of consulting experience, Besland has helped major oil and gas, chemicals, utilities, and other process industry companies to design new organisations, define business strategies, define sustainability roadmaps, reach operational excellence, and conduct supply chain as well as procurement transformations.
He has also helped governments and public organisations develop long-term, actionable plans related to energy and sustainability.
