Energy giant Saudi Armaco was one of the big winners of the Oil&Gas Middle East Awards, taking the spoils in both the Technical Innovation and Production Manager of the Year categories.
Adnan A Al-Kanaan won the Production Manager of the Year honour, and said the award was the result of a team effort.
“This is a recognition of the entire team, I don’t consider this to just be for myself, and this is for every single one of the 150 professionals who work in the team,” said Al-Kannan.
“Saudi Aramco is pushing the envelope with technology to expand production and productivity, especially concerning gas development in Saudi Arabia.
“I have built my career with Saudi Aramco, both by studying and working in the field. I have experience in drilling, production engineering, geology and exploration. That has been really valuable and allowed me to contribute to this organisation.”
Narish Nathan, CEO of Eversendai Offshore – a Gold Sponsor of the awards – presented the award.
Saudi Aramco’s A-Dots Programme also came in for praise, winning the much sought-after Technical Innovation of the Year.
Of the winner, one of the judges said: “This is an impressive, locally managed innovation with great potential in the region and globally in the oil and gas industry.”
Another said: “This programme shows fundamental innovation from A-Z of the initiative.”
